PYRRHUS is looking for a Flight Control Engineer to own the setup, tuning, and flight testing of our weapon-mounted UAV control platforms. You'll configure and tune flight stacks for stability and performance across flight regimes, and run field and flight test campaigns to validate autonomy and robustness under real-world conditions. You'll dig into logs and telemetry to diagnose and fix issues, working closely with firmware, mechanical, and electrical engineers throughout.

• Assemble and configure quadcopter platforms (frames, motors, ESCs, flight controllers, sensors)
• Tune control parameters (PID and related loops) for stability and performance across flight regimes
• Flash, configure, and troubleshoot flight stacks (PX4, ArduPilot, or Betaflight)
• Design and run flight test campaigns to validate control performance, robustness, and autonomy features (waypoint navigation, hold modes, failsafes, etc.)
• Diagnose flight anomalies using logs and telemetry, and iterate on fixes
• Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to resolve integration issues surfaced during testing
• Document build configurations, tuning parameters, and test results

• Hands-on experience with quadcopters — assembling, racing, or tuning control parameters
• Experience with at least one of: PX4, ArduPilot, or Betaflight
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Comfortable with hands-on hardware work (soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly) as a regular part of the job

• Master's degree with additional coursework or project experience in controls
• Experience with autonomy features (GPS-denied navigation, obstacle avoidance, precision landing)
• Familiarity with flight log analysis tools (PX4 Flight Review, ArduPilot Log Analyzer, etc.)
• Prior racing/FPV drone community experience
• Basic C/C++ or Python scripting ability
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certified
• Prior U.S. military service, especially in Army, Marine Corps, Airborne, Ranger, SOF units (or any other relevant units)
• Active or prior Secret clearance is a plus
